چکیده

We demonstrate photon-counting single-pixel imaging in the ultraviolet region. Toward this target, we develop a high-performance compact single-photon detector based on 4H-SiC avalanche diode (SPAD), where tailored readout circuit with active hold-off time is designed to restrain noise and operate SPAD free-running mode. use structured illumination reconstruct 192 × compressed images at 4 fps frame rate. To show superior capability of characteristics, our system identify distinguish different transparent objects under low-intensity irradiation image light sources. The results provide practical solution for general applications.

Photon Counting Imaging with an Electron-Bombarded Pixel Image Sensor

Electron-bombarded pixel image sensors, where a single photoelectron is accelerated directly into a CCD or CMOS sensor, allow wide-field imaging at extremely low light levels as they are sensitive enough to detect single photons. This technology allows the detection of up to hundreds or thousands of photon events per frame, depending on the sensor size, and photon event centroiding can be emplo...

Optimal fine ϕ-slicing for single-photon-counting pixel detectors

The data-collection parameters used in a macromolecular diffraction experiment have a strong impact on data quality. A careful choice of parameters leads to better data and can make the difference between success and failure in phasing attempts, and will also result in a more accurate atomic model. The selection of parameters has to account for the application of the data in various phasing met...

Characterisation of a single photon counting pixel system for imaging of low-contrast objects

In the framework of the Medipix1 collaboration the PCC, a single photon counting pixel chip, has been developed with the aim of improving the contrast resolution in medical imaging applications. The PCC consists of a matrix of 64]64 square pixels with 170lm side length, each pixel comprising a 15-bit counter and a pulse-height discriminator. The chip has been bump bonded to equally segmented 20...

Neural Imaging Using Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes

Introduction: This paper analyses the ability of single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) for neural imaging. The current trend in the production of SPADs moves toward the minimumdark count rate (DCR) and maximum photon detection probability (PDP). Moreover, the jitter response which is the main measurement characteristic for the timing uncertainty is progressing. Methods: The neural imaging pro...

Single-photon counting

High-sensitivity detectors that are able to generate an electrical signal when struck by a single photon have two main applications. The first is for tasks involving very low light levels, such as fluorescence microscopy for biological imaging, free-space optical communications or laser ranging. The second is for singlephoton counters in quantum optics, which must often capture individual photo...
